Are You Eligible for a California VA Loan?

Are you interested in getting a California VA Loan? Well, the first thing to concern yourself with is the eligibility requirements of a VA loan in California.

The VA has some eligibility requirements you first have to meet before you can apply for a California VA Loan.

To avail of the perks of a California VA Loan, you should be in the military service or you should be a retiree who was honorably discharged after serving for more than 90 days at wartime or 181 continuous non-war days. All military personnel are allowed to seek eligibility for the VA loan. They can be part of the army, the navy, the air force, the marine corps, or the coast guard. You are also automatically eligible if your discharge followed a service-related disability.

If you are not a member of the military but you are the spouse of a veteran who passed away, went missing in action, or was caught as a prisoner of war while serving in the military, you are also entitled to a California VA Loan.

Those who are not in active duty but are members of the Selected Reserve can also get a California VA Loan provided that they are honorably discharged, completed a 6 year membership in the Selected Reserve, retired from service, or are still serving in the Selected Reserve.
